Spread the Joy
According to the Academy of Sciences (Frederickson eval, 2013) happiness from having a purpose in life is linked with gene activity.
What the study tells us is that doing good and feeling good have very different effects on the human genome, even though they generate similar levels of positive emotions.
Pleasing just oneself does produce and certain amount of positive benefits of course but greater benefits were enjoyed by people who received joy from having a greater purpose in life.
Remember that happiness is not dependent on a result, but on an action.
A dancer dancing to share the love of dance is different than dancing for the applause.
